I carved my first lemon slice a number of years ago.
I was taking a class in wax carving. The idea was natural because I love citrus fruit, and I wanted to practice carving out small areas of a wax design. Even before I sent it to the caster to have it made in metal, I was thrilled with it. The shape felt right to me.
Making jewelry is so sweet to me. It is nice to have a little tartness for balance.
I love the fresh smell of lemons when you slice them, and the tart, biting taste. I love lemon flavored anything, especially if it is the tart flavor added to balance something sweet. And I love the way the little sections of a slice are shaped like water droplets. My professor suggested I develop my lemon slice as a theme. Now it is the symbol for my business.
