If you look at earrings you have in your jewelry box or on your earring stand, you will find the individual earrings are identical to each other.
I hope I have worked my magic, though, and made a pair that matches so closely they look as though they are facing each other in a looking glass.
Handmade earrings may have subtle differences between the two ornaments. This is a good thing. It shows your jewelry is hand crafted, and not machine made.
With mirror image earrings, the trick is to make earrings that look like a reflection of each other in a mirror. You hope to be able to hold the front of each one against the other, and have them match.
This design was fun to make. I liked creating a definite right and left-side earring. There is a little slight-of-hand magic at work here. I had to try to fool your eye into thinking each earring was a reflection of the other, despite the fact I made carved each one individually.
This design was carved in hard wax and cast in metal. Each was carved separately, and VERY CAREFULLY! There are subtle differences in each earring. I hope I have worked my magic, though, and made a pair that matches so closely they look as though they are facing each other in a looking glass.
My looking glaass earrings are available in 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold, sterling silver and a variety of finishes.
